Addiction Treatment In Newport Beach, California

Brookside Institute is the only alcohol and drug treatment center located in Southern California that uses a complete science-based medical model to treat addiction and co-occurring disorders (dual diagnosis). With the new Brookside Institute NeuroScience Center, a cutting edge research facility located onsite at Brookside Institute, our patients have access to the latest breakthroughs in brain function and neurophysiology. Unlike other addiction treatment centers that may only offer neuro/biofeedback as a treatment option, we offer multiple onsite neuroscience based drug treatment options unique to Brookside Institute. If you are looking for an alternative to 12-Step and want to break the relapse cycle, we can help.

Whereas other treatment centers may only offer therapy, or therapy in conjuction with medication, we believe that drug addiction must be treated at its source, and we combine therapy, medication, and a neuroscience-based protocol to treat our clients. Although we may be viewed as an alternative treatment center, we believe that by taking a complete approach to drug treatment, by treating the mind, body, and brain, recovery is a more realistic goal. In addition, our use of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and neurofeedback in conjunction with utilization of rEEG adds a level of depth to treatment where it may have been lacking.

Recently, our drug addiction treatment center became a training center for third and fourth year University of California Irvine Medical School students. We have been proud to train them and impart to them how we treat addictions.

We also treat depression. Visit our depression page here.

Pulling Back The Curtain To The Brain; Referenced EEG, Addictions and Dual Disorders

Scientific Breakthrough in Brain Wave Analysis.

In its leadership role in the treatment of addictions, Brookside Institute insists on using the latest in modern diagnostic and treatment methods. As part of Brookside Institute's science based protocol, the Referenced Electroencephalograph [rEEG] offers treatment professionals of many disciplines and patients the first real hope for long term recovery.

Among the great advances in the scientific and professional treatment of addictions is the increasing availability of brain diagnostic tools, such as the electroencephalograph [EEG]. Traditional treatment methods have largely ignored the actual organic brain and its function, and have suffered an undue amount of failures in recovery.

Easing Opiate Recovery: Detoxification and Maintenance

Buprenorphine - The Advanced Advantage

Dedicated to using the latest in science based treatment approaches, Brookside Institute is one of the few clinics whose Medical Director is authorized to treat patients addicted to opiates with Buprenorphine as a detoxification assist: the advantages of Buprenorphine are many. A person may be safely engaged in the detoxification regimen while fully participating in the treatment program.

Among addictive drugs, opiate withdrawal has proven the most difficult. From the heroin addict to the new breed of prescription drug addict, the problems of withdrawal remain the same. For treatment professionals, therapists and doctors, the opioid dependent patient has been among the most distressing, and has represented an unacceptable high relapse risk. Patients have traditionally been hospitalized in most cases, and even if they have completed detoxification, have lost valuable time.

Cooperation, Not Affiliation

Position

As a treatment program, Brookside Institute fosters an open door policy in relation to other treatment programs, methods and ideologies. While we consider our Brookside Institute Protocol as the best approach for most, we recognize that no single entity represents the only method of recovery.

Many clients fear that treatment will include a dogmatic approach to recovery. We wish to assure you that this is not the case.

We recognize that clients come to us at various stages of the disease process. We further recognize that at each stage, as the disease progresses and gets worse, remedies must be adjusted.
